Breakup Yoga-Style

Good news for tha fellas; Music mogal Russell Simmons and girlfriend Porschla Coleman take a trip to that lovely town we call Splitsville. Apparently Simmons penned a farewell note in his Huffington Post blog last week. Honestly, reading the blog I saw no signs of breakup, just a lot of praise to Porschla and yoga. But the breakup thing is something that's circulating around. You be the judge.

(Article/pic courtesy of MemphisRap.com)Rapper Lil Wayne is set to co-star in what will be his first movie appearance. The Cash Money rapper will appear in the upcoming movie "Patriots," which is a new major motion picture and sports drama starring Forest Whitaker.

The film which is directed by Tim Story (previous credits: Barbershop, Fantastic Four, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), is about the basketball team of players who attended five different high schools before Hurricane Katrina. The team is coached by Forrest Whitaker, who plays Al Collins, the basketball coach for John Ehret High, who led his Patriots to the state championship a year after Katrina ravaged the school and displaced many of its students. Whitaker also stars in the movie Street Kings which is currently on-screen alongside Common and The Game.

Lil' Wayne plays the character Lamont, a student at Al Collins High School who is a skeptic of the newly-assembled team.

Snitching Is A Contagious Disease

Here we go again...

From BET.com:Since the release of Karrine “Superhead” Steffan’s Confessions of a Video Vixen, which became a New York Times best seller in 2005, book stores around the country have been filled with novels written by women with the inside scoop on the hip hop industry telling it all. From scandals and gossip to the latest hook-ups there is no limit to what one will find.

Now, Canadian “model” Alana Wyatt-Smith, 29, a former stripper is getting in on the action with her tell all book entitled Breaking the Code of Silence.

In her book she gives an account of her tough childhood, a few encounters she’s had with a few celebrities and athletes as well as her 2005 marriage to rapper Mos Def which took place only after three short days of courtship. However, unlike Steffen and other’s, Wyatt-Smith keeps all names to herself.

According to TheStar.com Wyatt-Smith stated, “I disagree with putting names of people in there, just out of respect for their wives and children,” she said in an interview. “If this was about making money, getting rich, I could have wrote a tell-all book, 10 times better than Karrine Steffans … I use nicknames, initials, that myself and the gentleman would know; the ones named I got permission from.”

That statement went for everyone except for the main character in the book Mos Def.

Wyatt-Smith and Mos Def, whose real name is Dante Smith, eloped on August 17, 2005. By October 2006 she was filing for a divorce which stemmed from a heated argument the two were having that quickly turned abusive while on location for a movie he was filming in Brazil.

“I don’t believe that his intent was to hurt me…” Wyatt-Smith said. “But I had shared and cried with him many nights about my past (abusive) situation and I asked of him not to do that, because it brings back memories.”

Wyatt-Smith has not pressed charges against the rapper for the sake of not causing any problems. Although the couple hasn’t been together since late 2006, the two aren’t officially divorced due to the fact that she says, “He won’t sign the papers.”

Mos Def is rumored as saying if he can't have her, noone will.

Mos sounds a lil derranged, don't you think??

Ooh...

Is that who I think it is?!?! Yes! It's B! As in Beyonce'. And that don't look like MY Jigga. That's Ildris Elba from HBO's and Tyler Perry's The WireDaddy's Little Girls. Should Jigga be worried??

Nah, this pic was taken on the set of thier new movie Obsessed where Elba will play an asset manager who has a knockout wife (Knowles) and thriving career … until a temp office worker (white chic) begins stalking him.
